Personal Service

Our office team of experienced travellers, who know our holidays inside out, are here to help you and to offer a more personal level of service. Working with first-class local agents and skilled and knowledgeable leaders, we can ensure that our trips run smoothly. Each year, the simple fact that most of the people who travel with KE are repeat bookings, is the best possible testament we could have.

Value for Money

There are many elements that contribute to the cost of any adventure holiday, including; standard of accommodation, quality of transport and number and experience of staff. We carefully balance these and many other factors when planning our trips, with the aim of providing quality adventure holidays that represent unbeatable VALUE FOR MONEY. Whilst our prices are competitive, you can be assured that we don't cut corners to achieve this. With KE there are no hidden extras.

A Sustainable Approach

Since the beginning, Sustainability and Responsible Travel has been at the core of KE’s ethos and values. The holidays that we operate allow our customers to interact directly with communities in mostly rural areas, and we do our utmost to be respectful, to protect the environment and to ensure that those same communities benefit from the tourism that we bring to their regions.

Looking to the future, we are creating a sustainability plan which encompasses all that we do here at KE. This will form a framework to ensure that every section of our business is sustainable. We aim to produce the smallest carbon footprint we can, benefit the most people and communities surrounding our staff and the locals we visit, and that our form of tourism benefits the nature and wildlife which is so important to every single one of us.

Small Group Travel

Limiting the size of our guided groups to a maximum of 16 or less, enables us to be more creative in the setting up of our adventure holidays. Groups of this size can take advantage of travel and transport opportunities which would be impractical for large groups. Small groups allow for better and more meaningful interaction with local people and communities, and leave fewer footprints.

Around half of our clients are solo travellers, whilst others are couples or groups of friends. You will usually find a mix of male and female travellers with a range of different ages on our holidays.

Self-Guided and Private Groups

If you would like to travel independently with friends, we have a range of self-guided trips where we provide accommodation, baggage transfer and all the information you need to follow the route . If you wish to follow one of our regular guided itineraries with a group of friends or colleagues on dates that suit you, we can arrange private departures for most of our holidays. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

KE Leaders

Our guided group holidays include the services of a professional leader or local guide who has been selected on the basis of his or her experience and leadership skills. Your leader might be a seasoned traveller and mountaineer on a classic Nepalese trek, an IFMGA Guide on a climbing trip in Europe, a wilderness specialist in North America or an English-speaking local expert in Patagonia or Peru.

No matter who your leader is, you can be sure that they will meet the high standards expected by us and by our clients. Your KE leader is there to ensure your holiday runs smoothly.

Safety

Your safety is our highest priority and you can rest assured that KE has at its disposal the best available back-up and rescue facilities in each area we visit. The premium we place on professional standards of leadership also helps to ensure safety and security throughout your trip.

Accommodation

The accommodation we use is as varied as our range of trips and destinations. Within one trip you might overnight in a comfortable hotel, a mountain lodge and a riverside camp.

You’ll find information on the accommodation to be used in each holiday description. On trips involving camping you’ll camp in comfort, usually with a dedicated support team to transfer baggage and equipment, help set up camp and prepare your meals.

Food and Health

It is our primary concern that you should remain in good health throughout your holiday. When camping we make sure that food is expertly and hygienically prepared and we aim to serve a mixture of local and European-style dishes.

We try to provide substantial meals with as much variety as possible and routinely cater for vegetarians.

Explore International

Alongside some of the holidays that we offer you will see an 'Explore International' logo. Participants joining these trips can book through KE or one of our international partners. This enables us to gather together sufficient numbers of like-minded adventurers to get your holiday up and running quickly. Led by an English-speaking guide, the cosmopolitan nature of these groups is an important part of the experience!
