All of our group walking holidays attract similar people – travel fanatics with a passion for walking! Up to 50% of our clients are solo travellers, whilst others are couples or groups of friends, with a mix of male and female and a range of different ages.

We know that after a trip many of our travellers remain friends for life - it's not surprising as KE definitely attracts the most amazing people on our adventures.

You do not have to share a room if you prefer to stay alone. We offer the option to pay extra for you to have your own room or tent. However please be aware that this may not be possible if you are staying with locals in homestays, or in mountain huts or lodges with restricted space. But in these cases, it’s all part of the experience.

Most of  the time on our trips you’ll be exploring with your group. This also includes sitting together for meals such as breakfast and dinner, so you can chat to your fellow travellers and share stories. However, we all know how downtime is important, so there is also the opportunity to have some space to yourself. Allocated free time allows you to explore on your own and enjoy some valuable relaxation time away from the group. Or, if you prefer, you can carry on exploring with the people you meet - it’s up to you.

All of our guided holidays have an experienced leader and in the case of our Alpine climbs, the leader is always IFMGA qualified.

Our climbing holidays can involve multi-day approaches on foot to a basecamp below the objective mountain. On this stage of the trip (which is effectively trekking) there will usually be the support of a trek crew to carry personal belongings, along with any tents, group climbing equipment, food and cooking equipment.
