Ancient City of Petra

One of the top highlights of Jordan is visiting the Red-Rose City of Petra which is an exciting stop on all of our Jordan tours. Petra is a UNESCO listed ancient city that was carved into the rock over 2,000 years ago and is renowned for the intricate facades of The Treasury and The Monastery. Exploring Petra on foot reveals its lesser-known treasures and offers an immersive glimpse into its ancient past. On our Dana to Petra trek, we approach the ancient city via the little known ‘backdoor’, bringing us to the foot of the imposing Monastery; an unforgettable and intimate moment.

Wadi Rum

The desert valley of Wadi Rum is one of the world's most dramatic landscapes and not to be missed on any Jordan tour. The rugged red sandstone cliffs, rolling sand dunes, vast open spaces and traditional Bedouin communities make this area the perfect place for trekking and cycling. Also known as the ‘Valley of the Moon’, Wadi Rum is often used as a backdrop for otherworldly film sets, such as Dune, The Martian and Star Wars and when you visit you will understand the 'out-of-this-world' feeling! Embark on our Wadi Rum and Petra trek and experience camping under the stars every evening.

The Dead Sea

The Dead Sea is another highlight of many of our Jordan tours and offers a truly unique experience. When you visit, you'll find yourself at the Earth's lowest point, a staggering 400m below sea level. The renowned buoyancy of the water offers you the chance to float effortlessly due to its high salt concentration. The therapeutic mineral-rich waters and mud are said to have healing properties, making it the perfect stop on any active adventure to rejuvenate you for the day ahead. The surrounding landscape is equally stunning, with dramatic cliffs and mountains providing a breathtaking backdrop.

Jerash

Jerash is a well-preserved Roman city and home to some of the most impressive ruins in the world. A number of our Jordan tours visit Jerash where you will have the opportunity to step back in time and wander along its ancient colonnaded streets and see its incredibly well-preserved temples, baths and hippodrome, complete with Byzantine mosaic floors.
