Some treks stand out from the rest, achieving iconic status in the world of long-distance hiking. However with so many trails to choose from, which one is truly the best and right for you?

Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest Base Camp

As far as long distance treks go, the Everest Base Camp trek has it all. A challenging route, deep into the remote Himalaya with a real sense of purpose and achievement.

There are several trekking routes to Everest Base Camp. Each one with their own character and draw. From the classic trail straight to the Khumbu glacier to treks through the Gokyo valley and over the three challenging passes.

Highlights:

  • Scenic Flight: The journey starts with an exciting flight into Lukla, one of the world's most famous airports.
  • Namche Bazaar: Pass through this vibrant Sherpa town, known as the gateway to the high Himalayas.
  • Tengboche Monastery: A spiritual and unforgettable stop with views of Everest, Nuptse and Ama Dablam.
  • Kala Patthar: At 5,545m, this peak provides the very best view of Mount Everest and well worth the final push after reaching Base Camp.

Camino de Santiago

The original long distance trek in the world has been welcoming pilgrims for centuries. However, today the Camino de Santiago is more than a religious trail. Trekkers take on one of the many routes to the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia for their own personal reasons, whether that's spiritual, health or to simply enjoy the famous camaraderie of the trail.
