"Our road cycling supremo on the sun-kissed island of Gran Canaria is Ray Leddy, an expatriate Irishman and one-time semi-pro mountain biker. He loves riding the Gran Canaria 'Tour' and watches over our groups like a mother hen, making sure that no-one goes astray and everyone has a great holiday. He's a stickler for regular stops at coffee shops, juice bars and lunchtime 'restaurantes', to make each day's ride achievable for everyone. "Early in 2016, I travelled out to the Canaries to ride some of the best loops on Lanzarote and Fuerteventura and to meet Charles Wheatley, who looks after our cycling groups on these islands. From Swansea originally, Charles has lived for several years on Fuerteventura and managed the bike facility at a large sports resort for much of that time. Young and enthusiastic and with an encyclopaedic knowledge of the islands' roads and a great understanding of how things work in the Canaries, Charles makes the perfect tour guide. He has a strong background in road cycling and any hotshots looking to challenge him on the climb to the Mirador del Rio will need to be going well".
