Adventure Holidays to Western Nepal

Beyond the lakeside city of Pokhara and trending north of the great chain of the Nepal Himalaya, the landscape is dry, stark and beautiful. The people in Western Nepal are Buddhists of Tibetan ancestry, living in picturesque villages, growing scant crops of barley and potatoes, herding sheep, goats and yaks and trading north and south across high passes for salt and rice, epitomising Nepalese trekking.

Home to some of the most challenging treks in the World, western Nepal is home to rugged mountains and dramatic weather. This is very much the land that time forgot, with a mix of ancient religions and a traditional, hardy people who make their living through farming trade with both Tibet and Nepal. Home to the breathtaking blue waters of Phoksumdo Lake and and the towering highs of the challenging Dhaulagiri (8276m), its no wonder that keen trekkers and climbers head to Western Nepal every year for adventure holidays. KE has trekked these trails for 30 years and Nepal’s wild west is still one of our favourite places.
