A great trip with some stunning scenery...
Classic Tour du Mont Blanc

We were fortunate to have good weather for almost all of the trip. Our French guide Sophie was really excellent with her encyclopaedic knowledge of the area and its flora and fauna. All the accommodation was good with great food especially in the French hotels and the Yeti lodge. Thoroughly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to see some of the best scenery in Europe (if not the world).

Great hike through the "Picos"
Traverse of the Picos de Europa

Great scenery, good challenge every day, great companions and great guild, Rosanna. The hotels were great but the refugios were less then desirable but the hiking was worth it. Overall, Loved the trip!

Trekking culture and history
Salkantay Trail to Machu Picchu

High quality of support for the trekking well integrated with learning about the history. Demanding because of the height but paths were generally good and days not too long.

treated like kings
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu

Every part of our trip went like clockwork. There were no problems at all. From being met at the airport to all the hotels, guided tours, the hike itself. Everything was perfect. Our guide was very knowledgeable, spoke very good English, explained all the ruins and landmarks. He kept the schedule, stayed and helped the stragglers on the hike. Could not ask for a better guide. I tell everyone thinking of a trip to use KE.

A spectacular tour, a very rejuvenating walking holiday.
Best of the Tour du Mont Blanc
A great holiday, and very rejuvenating. The combination of spectacular views, physically exhausting but exhilarating walking, good food, wine and soft beds was wonderful. I would recommend that anyone doing this trip trains beforehand so that they can fully enjoy the journey and views without being physically exhausted. The treks require a good level of cardiovascular fitness for the inclines and strong legs and core for the descents so that you don't strain your knees. I would also recommend bringing your own snacks for the trip so that you don't need to find supermarkets as this can be tricky. Also the drinks are expensive in the huts and the hotels, so be prepared! All in all a great trip.

Across the Julian Alps to Triglav

Excellent trip. Lovely views and hotel at Lake Bled at either end of the trail. Fabulous hiking on exhilarating trails, with rustic mountain hut accommodation and hearty food. The ascent of Triglav at the end of the trip is a fitting finale. Great guides, well organised and a wonderful country.

Great sights but terrible selections of meals
I am easy going and didn't have high expectations about the trip before I decided to book. Everything sounded good and I was really excited abut it. The schedule for hiking was good. And the places we visited were fantastic. Accommodations was mixed. Good and average. The main disappoinment is the food. ITALY is famous for food. We were in sicily, plenty of seafood. Only a few meal that we could choose seafood from our limited menu. And for one day I remembered for lunch we got 2.50 worth of som e kind of snack not meal + 1 slice of terrible pizza. Knowing that the main thing was the hiking and sightseeing but it would have been nice to get proper and healthy food. It is not too hard at all. The tourguide is really friendly and helpful throughout the trip. A little problem with communication but everything was fine. Breakfast was so early and dinners were alway late. But do understanded that we were in the group so the majority werent complaint about it. Didn't want to be so fussy but glad that I don't have to have unhealthy breakfast and late dinner anymore after come home.

KE Adventure reply

Thank you for your review. It is not often we receive a complaint about the food on our Italian holidays and we will certainly be speaking to our local suppliers about your feedback. We are pleased that you thought the hiking was good, the places you visited were fantastic and that you found our tour guide to be friendly and helpful throughout the trip.

Albania's Accursed Mountains
Walking the Albanian Alps
This holiday provides excellent walking through varied terrain , from broad river valleys through tall beech forests and up into heavily glaciated limestone peaks that are spectacularly craggy . Most of us swam in the blue eye pool , beautiful as a tropical lagoon. Our guide Alfred was terrific and we particularly enjoyed our interactions with the shepherd communities that settle the high pastures through the habitable summer months . Expect mountain weather - this september trip was mostly gloriously sunny but temperatures drop in the evening - pay heed to the KE kit list ! The accommodation was all much more comfortable than I anticipated - everywhere had power sockets and hot showers , and the water is pure. The hospitality of our hosts was wonderful and as they live so remotely , the food is all local or home produced , vegetarians no problem . The local raki is potent and the Mountain Tea really refreshing . I wish I had asked to buy some to bring home ~ you don't find shops outside the towns . Albania is a fascinating country with a mind-boggling history , development is coming apace but it still feels very unique

Super traverse of Picos de Europa
Traverse of the Picos de Europa

Well planned itinerary. Excellent leadership. Group was a good mixture of British & American walkers who gelled very well from day 1. Day 5 was a long climb with full packs, so three of us cut the climb by taking the funicular to Bulnes. This was a good decision & perhaps should be highlighted as an option for those who do not want a 2000 metre climb.

Not a pleasant experience at all
One Week Mount Toubkal Trek
We have used KE before and thought they were great. We were let down on this one. We had added an extra 2 nights on to the start of our trek to get a bit of R&R before our trek but the hotel is dire. Broken tiles in the bathrooms, leaking showers, horrendous breakfast and it is a "drop off" hotel with groups turning up at all times of the night shouting and banging. (Just check the hotel out of trip advisor) I suffered a knee injury in the room due to a leaking shower and we had no sleep for 3 nights prior to our trek which basically meant we were so exhausted we just did not enjoy it at all. The team were great but due to the knee injury we were often left behind because I just could not match the pace. Food is great if you love salad and porridge. If you don't its pretty much tough! Very little in the way of protein maybe a couple of mouthfuls a day nothing to suffice the repairing required after a full days trek This is a hard trek, the easiest bit for me was the summit. Its a long hard slog most days and the "amazing scenery" is great but personally do not think it is worth the hard work for the view If you want to summit Toubkal forget this pointless trek and just do it.

KE Adventure reply

Thank you for the review. We were sorry to learn that your experience on the Toubkal trek did not match that on your previous holiday with us. You did contact us about your room in Marrakech at the time and we responded to you and asked your guide to visit you and arrange a better room. Normally we receive fantastic reviews for our cooks on this trip and we are sorry that you did not like the food on your trek. This is one of our most challenging trekking holidays in Morocco and you need to be comfortable with walking for up to 8 or 9 hours each day and for several days continuously, but the rewards are amazing views, fascinating interactions with the Berber people and a real sense of achievement.

Excellent
Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route
Elias and all the Team from Tanzania cannot be praised enough for all their help, support and encouragement throughout this trip. Rashid the owner also made a point of meeting us all personally at the start and end of the trip which was a nice touch. We had a bit of a medical emergency during the trip but Elias (the guide) and his team dealt with it all very professionally and everyone was put at ease with the person in question recovering fully as a result of his quick thinking. The remainder o f the group all summited successfully and felt we were in good hands all the time. We all know without the help of the porters, guides, cooks and everyone else helping us that we simply would not have made it! A big thumbs up to all who helped us achieve our goal!

Excellent walking, food and drink
Walking Wild Tuscany
This walk should really be graded a 6 as there are steep climbs and descents. We could manage it but others might not be able to. The walks where fantastic with great views and excellent guiding by Jamie and Danny, the Italian guide. The accommodation is fantastic - tastefully decorated bedrooms and the fact that we were in a separate house with our own kitchen and living room give the holiday a house party atmosphere. The food is absolutely superb - and that includes the packed lunches, whi ch we did not have to make ourselves. Highly recommended if you want o immerse yourself in the landscapte of Tuscany rather than Chiantishire!

Walking with the Gods of the magical Amalfi Coast!
Trails of the Amalfi Coast
This is a relatively easy walking holiday with plenty of time for sightseeing. The food in the friendly family run hotel was excellent and the local grown food is wonderful. I did a CAPRI day trip on our "free day".The "cruise" around the coves and bays of the island of Capri is definitely the way to get there ! I also went up the Mount Solaro by cable car in Ana Capri which was a beautiful serene experience with spectacular views from the top of the mountain. Helculaneum is worth a visit as it is better preserved in places than Pompei and a smaller site to get around making it easier to not miss anything.

Brilliant point to point trekking holiday
High Tatras Trekking - The Carpathian Mountains
A fantastic point to point trekking holiday. I enjoy light weight back packing so know to pack light. Pack light and get in shape to make the most of this holiday. Our guide was brilliant. An accomplished guide and leader but also a wonderful teacher about the landscape and the history of the areas we trekked through. One of the best guides I have ever travelled with. The ascent of Rys is a technical scramble with the aid of chains, make sure you are okay with scrambling and a little bit of expo sure.

It just got better and better!
Jebel Sahro Walking Holiday
This was my fourth trip after Everest Basecamp, Wadi Rum and Petra and the Pyrenees on foot. The group hotel was very average and the food very below average. But after that, once on the trek, it had everything I was hoping for. Amazing views, delicious food, great crew and leader. Only downside, it didn't last long enough - I could have done more days of walking rather than just the four. I am fit for my age and didn't have any problems with the grade (5) effort but some of my companions on the trip did find it hard work, and coupled with it being very hot and a tummy bug going around the group, meant that a few of my group didn't have the best of times. Fortunately, the views will be remembered for a long long time and the multiple trips to the loo in the middle of the night will soon be forgotten!

Great wildlife viewing
Botswana Wildside Lodge Safari
If you would love to see a great variety of wildlife in their natural environment, have a spirit of adventure a flexible disposition and are prepared to be an active team member then you will enjoy this trip. There are early mornings starts and it's best to be organised with bags packed from the night before ! It is a privilege to have had the opportunity to stay at the Okavango Delta...and to spend time with the local guides. Travelling by mokoro canoe through the delta is so peaceful yet you c an spot hippos or elephants nearby. Each of the destinations are special in their own way... Moremi Game Reserve is a wonderful place to see the animals and not so busy as Chobe National Park with the number of tourists . How wonderful to share the space where the lodges are with herds of elephants and many other creatures! It was great also to visit the community project established to protect rhinos in a secure habitat and we got to see white rhinos. The salt pan too is amazing. Useful items: foldaway waterproof bag for transfer of some items in moroko canoe for Okavango stay. A cowl neck/head scarf for early mornings and to protect on dusty road trips. It was very warm (in September) in the smaller tents at the delta - open the side vents for air circulation as front ones must be closed. Our guide Arthur was really good and worked well with all the group .

So thankful
Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
I am so thankful that I picked KE for this trip! Machu Picchu is a popular destination, so there are multiple companies to choose from when picking a travel organization. KE does this trip a little differently from the others, however, and it makes a world of difference. Instead of 3.5 days of hiking, and only a couple of hours at Machu Picchu, KE spreads the hiking out over 4 days. With this schedule, the group arrives at MP in the evening. There's a chance to get lots of photos of the site from the Sun Gate, but that night the group goes into town for a well deserved shower and sleep in a hotel. A return to MP the next morning allows a FULL DAY at the site before catching the train back to Cusco. Thank goodness! A couple of hours would not have been enough time at this amazing site. There are other advantages of spreading the hiking out over 4 days as well. It means the group of off-set with other groups hiking the Inca Trail. Our first night we were at a private campground with just our group. The second night there was only one group nearby. This is a stark contrast to some of the packed campsites we saw on the trail. We also had little interaction with other groups of hikers on the trail itself, which was nice. Also, all of our hiking was done in daylight hours. Groups doing the trail in 3.5 days would sometimes get to their campsite after dark. Or worse, they'd start off in the morning when it was still dark. Who wants to hike in the dark? Those groups missed some incredible views, and a particularly stunning sunrise from our 3rd campsite. The weather, our group, our guide, and our cooks were all top notch. The trip was everything I'd hoped for.

Brilliant holiday, well organised and with excellent guides
Climb Mont Blanc and Gran Paradiso

Excellent holiday in the Alps - despite adverse weather and safety conditions on Mont Blanc, we climbed various peaks on Monte Rosa as an alternative. The Grad Paradiso trip and traverse of the Valle Blanche were also spectacular. The guides were knowledgeable, informative and had lots of experience. Overall an fun, adventurous and interesting trip - I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.

a pleasant walking holiday
Classic Tour du Mont Blanc
I had great time for this adventure holiday. Trip guide Gary is very nice & knowledgeable. Our whole trip mates of seven got along very well & had lots of laughs together. There are some improvement can be done. The hotel "Auberge du Mont-Blanc" on 8/27 was not pleasant. Small & almost nothing in the room other than beds. Multiple shared shower & bathroom was very inconvenient. Dining table space was jam packed & you couldn't even open your arms to eat. Hope the lunch sandwich has more variety other than ham & cheese except tuna sandwich was offered on the first day only. Otherwise,it's a very nice trip to remember. I enjoyed it very much.

Iceland Complete Highlands Explorer

Participants should be aware the huts are crowded and noisy. There is a fair amount of driving. The rest of the trip is wonderful. Great hikes, wonderful scenery and some time to wander around the beautiful places we stopped.
