Costa Rica in pictures - images from our Leader

Costa Rica is a magnificent country to snap some picture-perfect memories, and so abundant with unique wildlife it's sometimes hard to know where to look. This photogenic nation packs a lot of punch, and is home to beautiful beaches, lush cloud forests, volcanoes, and an exciting animal community that includes howling monkeys, sloths, tapirs, toucans, butterflies, hummingbirds, colourful frogs and leatherback turtles.

More than 25% of Costa Rica is protected in national parks and reserves, and our KE Leader in Costa Rica, Joe Bernini, has sent us just taster from his recent trip.

Take a look.

The group at the entrance to the Corcovado National Park.

Snorkeling in El Caño Island, a magical experience in deed. White-tipped sharks, Blue trevally, Big eye jacks, Snappers, different species of Parrot fish, Starfishand and many more..Crystal clear waters.

The KE group on the boat.

Rincón beach,  one of the many pristine beaches of the Osa Península - a remote yet accesible area.

Walking in Corcovado trails means to immerse in a place bursting with biodiversity. There was a brief pause when Joe said: "Con look! A glass frog just jumped on you."

The group landing at Sirena beach.

Wildlife spotting off Sirena Beach.

Jose turned his eyes over to the canopy and pointing at a small branch at the very top he said: "We found it! A three toed sloth hanging dozing in the canopy."

Receiving specific instructions to be able to see Costa Rica's greatest land mammal in its natural habitat. The Tapir rests during the day in shaded and wet areas in the forest, in mud pools or under a tree on the beach, where they can enjoy the breeze from the Pacific Ocean.

Finishing off with a refreshing lunch on the beach.

Joe Bernini won KE's  ‘Leader of the Year’ in 2015.  Joe hails from the Golfo Dulce region of SW Costa Rica and since 2014 has led many for KE groups. His feedback from clients has been without fail, outstanding and he was a worthy winner of the annual award.

Joe leads KE's Costa Rica Walks and Wildlife holiday, one of our best-selling 2 week holidays, packed with fantastic wildlife spotting opportunities and walks through this stunning country.
