Tsomothang – a 6000 Metre Peak in Ladakh

Grade 9 - A great challenge for mountaineering enthusiasts

Tsomothang (6,050m) is a rarely climbed peak that offers a new mountaineering objective. Often referred to as ‘Little Tibet’, Ladakh is high and wild territory and this expedition treks for a week on scant trails, where the only people you are likely to meet are nomadic shepherds and their livestock. The trek crosses two 5,000m passes on route to the snow-capped peak of Tsomothang. This rarely climbed and technically undemanding mountain provides an excellent trekking challenge and the opportunity for any keen trekker or aspiring mountaineer to tick off a 6,000m Himalayan peak.
