One of the most remarkable aspects of our Portugal adventures is the accommodation. Both our guided walking holiday in Portugal and our family holiday in Portugal are centre-based at a phenomenal eco-lodge run by KE friends, Jon and Vio.

Nestled within 150 acres of farmland near the village of Aldeia Da Pedralva in Cape St Vincent National Park, the lodge is a peaceful retreat that feels like home the moment you arrive. Guests stay in charming individual cottages set among a cork oak forest, surrounded by unspoiled nature. Each cottage is uniquely designed, offering its own cosy spaces and character.

Jon and Vio not only host your stay but also organise the activities for both our walking and family holidays. These range from breathtaking coastal walks to bodyboarding in crystal clear waters. In your free time, there's plenty to explore within the lodge’s grounds - a fruit orchard and vegetable garden, hammocks swaying in the shade, a sun deck perfect for breakfast in the morning light, a traditional pizza oven and a fire pit for gathering under the stars.

Evenings are a sociable time, whether sharing a feast of home-cooked Portuguese cuisine (often made with ingredients from the lodge’s own garden!) around the communal dining table, or swapping stories by the fire pit over a glass of local wine. If you prefer a quieter moment, you can retreat to the lounge, curl up by the fireplace and lose yourself in a good book.
