What Where to Go and What to Do in May

As the last month of spring unfolds in the northern hemisphere, daylight continues to extend, offering more opportunities for outdoor pursuits. With temperatures still pleasantly cool, it's an ideal time for walking or cycling adventures. May provides a window to explore destinations before the summer crowds descend, and in certain parts of Asia, it marks the beginning of the month before the onset of the monsoon season.

Meanwhile, in the southern hemisphere, winter is gradually approaching. As the season changes, crowds are starting to disperse, creating a more serene atmosphere in countries in Southern Africa, Australasia and parts of South America. The milder weather during this time invites outdoor enthusiasts to engage in activities amid diverse landscapes. Simultaneously, in some parts of the northern hemisphere, May showcases vibrant and colourful foliage, adding a touch of visual splendour to the seasonal transition. In Southern Africa, the autumn season is characterised by milder temperatures and clear skies, making it a favourable time for safaris and outdoor adventures. 



Road Cycle Tour of Toubkal

In May, Morocco emerges as the ideal destination for a road cycling adventure, benefiting from consistently pleasant weather conditions. Cycling across the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2260m) to reach the desert outpost of Zagora,  this classic cycling holiday follows generally good tarmac roads. The return journey follows an alternative, thrilling, and less-travelled route over the Tizi n'Test pass (2092m). he adventure promises a diverse array of Moroccan encounters – from the vibrant street life and Berber performances in Marrakech's Djema el-Fna square to the delectable flavours of local cuisine. Mera Peak

Standing tall at 6476 metres, Mera Peak ranks among Nepal's highest trekking peaks, providing a summit panorama that includes Kangchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Everest, and Cho Oyu.
