September in the northern hemisphere ushers in the transition from summer to autumn, bringing varied and distinctive experiences across regions such as Europe, Asia, and Northen America. In Europe, temperatures start to cool, and vibrant autumn foliage begins to grace landscapes. It's a season for grape harvesting in the vineyards of Italy and Spain, adding to the cultural richness of the region. Meanwhile, in Asia, countries like Japan witness the arrival of autumn, marked by the subtle changing colours of cherry blossoms and the anticipation of traditional events like the Tsukimi or moon-viewing festivals. Across the United States, the northern states start to feel the cool breeze of fall, while southern regions continue to enjoy warmer temperatures. In each of these diverse regions, September encapsulates the unique charm of the changing seasons, making it a month of transition and celebration.

In September, the southern hemisphere enters spring in regions like Africa and northern Latin America. Spring represents a period of rejuvenation and burgeoning life, offering a vibrant contrast to the autumnal landscapes in the northern hemisphere. In northern Latin America, countries such as Mexico and Bolivia embrace the arrival of spring with warmer temperatures and blooming flora. The Great Southern African Lodge Safari

Southern Africa in September offers a diverse array of experiences with varying climates across its countries. While Botswana and Namibia provide optimal conditions for wildlife viewing with the end of the dry season, Zambia showcases the impressive Victoria Falls at peak flow, creating a well-rounded opportunity for both safari adventures and natural wonders. Embarking on our Southern African adventure, commence at the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls on the Zambezi River, one of the world's largest waterfalls. Our journey leads west through Namibia's Caprivi Strip, traversing Angola and Botswana, renowned for its migrating elephants and home to the Wild Africa Dog. The wildlife-rich pans of Etosha National Park offer encounters with African big game, including big cats, elephants, and various plain game. Venturing deeper into Namibia, highlights include Swakopmund, the mesmerising sand dunes of Sossusvlei, and enchanting evenings of stargazing. Continuing our loop, we enter Botswana, pausing in the Kalahari to meet the San Bushmen before immersing ourselves in the diverse wildlife of the Okavango Delta. Exploring the delta's waterways via traditional mokoro canoe provides a magical experience. Our journey concludes in Botswana's Chobe National Park, where rich grasslands sustain a high concentration of wildlife, observed during our boat safaris. 



Road Cycling in Lebanon

Lebanon's diverse landscape, with its coastal towns like Byblos and historical richness, offers an enticing setting for a 6-day, 410-kilometre road cycling adventure. The sparsely populated inland, dotted with villages, provides a tranquil cycling experience amid Lebanon's rugged interior. The route encompasses the Lebanon Mountains, reaching over 3000 metres in the north, passing through ancient olive groves, cedar forests, and the agricultural Bekaa Valley. Highlights include the Arz-Oyoun Pass, Mzaar-Kfardebian ski station, and Lake Qaraoun with views of Mount Hermon. The journey concludes with a scenic ride through Chouf Mountains' farming villages, featuring a visit to the historic Beiteddine Palace. The expedition concludes in Beirut with a city tour and a final dinner to savour the rich flavours of Lebanese cuisine. Lebanon in September enjoys pleasant weather, with warm temperatures ranging from around 23 to 30 degrees Celsius (73 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit). This month provides an excellent opportunity for outdoor activities and exploring Lebanon's diverse landscapes, from its coastal areas to its mountainous regions.

 

 

Highlights of Nepal and Bhutan

Embarking on a 2-week adventure seamlessly blending Nepal and Bhutan, this captivating itinerary provides a profound exploration of the Himalayan region. Beginning in the vibrant city of Kathmandu, where bustling streets and colourful temples captivate, the journey progresses to the old trading post of Bandipur and the lakeside town of Pokhara, offering breathtaking views of the Annapurna peaks. Returning to Kathmandu before venturing to Bhutan, the pocket-sized capital of Thimphu unveils attractions like the Tashichoedzong fortress-monastery, with opportunities to witness unique festivals. In September, Bolivia experiences the tail end of the dry season, offering ideal conditions for exploring its diverse landscapes. From the unique salt flats of Salar de Uyuni to the historic silver-mining town of Potosi and the stunning landscapes of Sajama National Park, this month provides pleasant weather for a captivating Bolivian adventure. Embarking on a captivating Bolivian adventure, our journey unfolds from the shores of Lake Titicaca to the expansive white salt flats of the Salar de Uyuni, one of Earth's highest and driest environments. After immersing ourselves in the wonders of Latin America's greatest lake, Titicaca, we fly south to Sucre and Potosi, a historic silver-mining town. Following an acclimatisation hike in the Cordillera Kari Kari, we reach Uyuni, marked by its atmospheric 'train graveyard,' and venture to the base of Volcan Tunupa, hiking to the crater of this uniquely multi-colored mountain. Continuing to Sajama National Park, our route unveils rustic churches, towering cacti, and diverse Andean wildlife around remote lagoons. From Sajama Village, we ascend to the Condoriri Craters, featuring high-altitude lagoons and breathtaking landscapes, before descending to hot springs for a relaxing interlude. The journey concludes back in La Paz, where we explore the vibrant city, rounding off this action-packed two-week adventure through Bolivia's extraordinary and diverse terrains. 

 

 

Walking Undiscovered Tenerife and Pico Teide

Explore the vibrant Canary Island of Tenerife on this enchanting walking holiday, where stunning landscapes and unspoiled nature await. Ultimate Toubkal Weekend
