Stunning views and fun hiking.
Reunion Island Paradise

This was a really well planned trip with a lot of point to point walking so that you feel like you're really travelling through the beautiful island. There are some really striking views of the live volcano, the interior cirques and some beautiful beaches. Our guide, Claire, was very knowledgeable about the routes we were taking, the history of the island, the flora and fauna and the geology making this a very rewarding trip. Just watch out for the humidity and the intense tropical showers!

A Wild Thyme in Jordan
Jordan's Wadi Rum and Petra

Marvellous scenery in Wadi Rum, with some very enjoyable climbs and walks through the rocks. The routes included some very narrow crevices, very tight! No need for poles (they stayed in my bag all week). Quite chilly in the evening. We had one wild night with the tent needing repitching at 3am. Our guide (Nader) was very knowledgable about Petra and his descriptions filled in many blanks. We found thyme growing wild and when added to the sweet tea it made a refreshing drink.

enjoy winter warmth and sun!
Winter Sunshine Walking in the Jebel Sahro - Morocco
I had a heck of a time. It was good to get sun and warmth in winter. The Kasbah we stayed at after finishing the hike was absolutely fabulous! I think it was Kasbah Tizzarouine. The hike itself was moderate. If there were no villages or people along the way, the mountains would have been unremarkable. But I love seeing traditional villages, going back in a time machine. That's what made the trip what it was. We didn't see any other hikers or tourists once we started the hike. It was like we had a special invite from the Berbers. Good group of people. One bad apple can ruin it for all.

Guatemala's Magnificent Seven
Guatemala = Incredible Guides = Superb Scenery = Beautiful Volcanoes = Awesome, especially Feugo Camp Sites = Perfect Food = Wow, at camp sites and restaurants Lake Atitlan/San Pedro = Enjoy :-) Value for Money = Worth every penny, an incredible deal. Everything about this trip was top shelf, the guides Luis & Josh became friends almost overnight, they were a major part of what made the trip so incredible. I have had three trips with KE and all adventures have been professional, well laid ou t & tough, this one hits the top of the list thus far. A great holiday for a variety of environments I.e. city , valley and mountains
Mount Toubkal in Winter
Great holiday which gives a flavour of Marrakech with half a day at each end of the trek , two days trekking in the picturesque Imlil valley which is covered in cherry and walnuts trees. The acclimatisation walk in the valley takes you through several villages with interesting information about village life provided by the guides. However, highlight was the two days spent in the high Atlas Mountains including the climb of Mount Toubkal with spectacular views of the area. The guides were excellen t setting an appropriate pace for the group which meant we all completed the climb of Mount Toubkal.

Very enjoyable desert experience. Spectacular drive over the Atlas Mountains
Edge of the Sahara Trek

Great trip with exciting drive over the mountains on the way there and back. Four days of desert sand dunes was enough though. Wear high ankle boots so the sand does not get in. Gaiters a good idea but not on the kit list. Spectacular sun sets as well

fantastic walking experience
Walking Undiscovered Tenerife and Pico Teide
Superbly organised from start to finish. Local guides, Cao and Aaron from Anaga Experience are the most welcoming , informative and entertaining I have met. Hiking days are full and require sure footing but enjoyable for all regular hikers. Plenty of time to enjoy and photograph. The highlight of the trip conquers El Teidi Volcano with superb views above the cloud of the caldera itself and neighbouring Canary Islands. Trip is fantastic for geology, diverse and endemic botany, stunning scenery,lo vely local food and wine (all included). Accommodation modest but nice in all locations. Best time for flowers probably April- May. I went in April, daily temperatures average app. 25 lower down and chilly in the mountains, needing fleece level clothing in the mornings. Bring a swim costume, the sea was a welcome relief on 2/3 occasions. Little extra money only for tips, extra drinking, shops (really only chance would be on the last day in Santa Cruz). Bring a camera, this island will surprise and charm you. Great small group size of 12 people of whom you are likely to have something in common. In summary.... awesome!

Amazing Oman
Oman Adventure Trekking
Always good to escape the Scottish winter for a while but this trip to Oman was just the ticket. Interesting and varied walking, swimming opportunities, good food, time to explore Muscat & Nizwa and wall to wall sunshine - what more could you want. Very well looked after by our guide Hanna and his team. While the walking is not difficult, the heat & rocky terrain make it a bit harder than it looks on paper so best to read the trip notes. The final day swimming to the caves at Wadi Shab w as spectacular and so much fun - not to be missed.

Overall, the best hike to do on both sides of Patagonia
Patagonia - The Classic Paine Circuit
We were pleased that we choose end of March to do the circuit. The weather was more stable and the less hikers were on the trails. Our trip leaders Dani and Francisco were terrific: local, very knowledgeable and fun. Overall, they ran close to a perfect trip. Ecocamp is well run and a good alternative if you do not want to carry your tent and food. If time is not a factor, the circuit is the only trip to do to fully experience the different ecosystems within Patagonia. It is also very rewarding to climb the pass and experience the view of the Patagonia Icefields. Spectacular vista view although not guaranteed. tip: we arrived early and took the bus to El Chalten and hiked around by ourselves. El Chalten is a much nicer town than El Calafate to get the local experience of living in Argentina Patagonia. 5days would work well to allow you to choose the hikes depending on the weather. You can reserve your bus ticket online at Chalten Travel. hint: Be aware that KE does not do a "group transfer" as stated in their trip summary. They only provide a group transfer if you book your airfare directly with them ( which was only one person in our group). You can get a taxi to and from the hotel cheaper independently than booking directly with KE. Bring good rain gear and hiking sticks.

We provide a single, timed group transfer from the airport to the hotel, but anyone may use this transfer regardless of whether they book their flights through KE. Group transfers help to keep the price of the holiday down for everyone and, as you mention, it is relatively easy to arrange a taxi if the group transfer timing does not work for a particular flight arrival.

Wow! - fantastic and very different trekking holiday
Guatemala's Magnificent Seven
Great holiday, great accommodation and food much better than expected. Guides Joshua and Louis are fantastic and really make holiday. Hotels are spotless and full of character and going out to different restaurants for meals was great idea (only pay for drinks). Camp sites are in great locations and well organised. Places visited were amazing and the views seen are truely awesome (won't say any more as don't want to spoil your anticipation). The following is not meant to be negative or to put yo u off a fabulous holiday but: note that this is tough walking - volcanoes are steep! The 1,200 m of assent is much tougher than walking in the Lakes or Scotland - the height is often gained in less than 3km - add to that the heat and altitude and on occasion loose shale underfoot. That said the trip is broken up well with hard days followed by easier days. You do need warm gear for evening and morning camps. If you are fit, go - you will not be disappointed.

Unique walking experience
Red Hot Chile Trekkers - The Atacama Desert
Our Chilean trek was a wonderful experience. Our guide Yasu was well organised and very knowledgeable on all aspects of the area. The Atacama Desert has a very unique feel to it. Most of the trip involves magnificent day walks through hidden valleys all whilst preparing you for your ascent of Licancabur Volcano, a challenging seven to eight hour climb to approx. 6000mt. Its a cold climb in the early morning so be prepared with warm gear. The preparation walks gets more challenging as the final a scent day draws near. Don't worry if you find these days quite exhausting as the whole week is slowly building up your chances of making to the top on the last day. The weather can be hot days and cold nights. You will need warm gear! Also a good sturdy set of ankle high walking boots as for most of the week and especially in Bolivia the footing is loose stone and the chances of a sideways spill is a possibility. One down side was a couple of poor choices for campsites which was a little disappointing given the abundance of magnificent campsite opportunities, however with early nights and an early start this was only a minor complaint I would recommend this trek.

The worst accommodations we have ever experienced as a couple in 35 years
The Grand Tour of Morocco - Private Morris
The days activities and the route were excellent. The guides were good, knowledgeable and resourceful and there were no missteps of any sort. The hotels were uniformly very poor, dirty with poor toilet and shower facilities. In some cases, that was probably due to the remoteness of the locations but, in some cases, there were evidently better hotels available and should have been used. This was particularly true in Fes. The breakfasts and dinners at the hotels was also poor. The lunches prepared by our guides, which was fresh was much better quality. If you use these accommodations again, you should tell the users that they are of a very low calibre commensurate with the cost and they should bring cleaning materials and liners with them for daily use.

La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries
Two months ago I had never heard of either La Gomera or KE Adventure, so it was with a little trepidation that I booked this holiday. The title La Gomera -Jewel of the Canaries says it all, the week was faultless. There were so many positives: the variety of the walks, the accuracy (in my opinion) of the grading as a five, the quality and variety of both the meals and the accommodation, the banter between the group and the fact that the weather happened to be perfect all helped to make it such a n enjoyable week. The one outstanding feature among so many positives was our guide Enekoiz. Points that deserve mention were the calm approach he has to his work, the high level of interest in his job, the passion he has for La Gomera, his willingness to accomodate people, his command of English and his multi facteted personality all make him a great ambassador for this wonderful island that I hope to return to soon. P.S. By the way I'm not always this positive when I write a review!

Chamonix Snowshoe Short Break
Highly recommneded holiday. Mark was a brilliant leader who adjusted the itinerary to meet the abilities of all travellors. We had a fun and energising few days. The walks were at the right pace and length and we were lucky with 2 days of glorious sunshine meaning we really got to enjoy the views. The scenery is amazing and even more beautiful after freshly laid snow. Walking in snow shoes isn't much different to normal walking, but without sinking in the snow! Recommend this to anyone who enjoy s walking and snow.

Absolutely Brilliant
Buena Vista Cuba
My group followed The Rolling Stones and Barack Obama to Cuba in April 2016 without all the hullabaloo they incited! This was my first trip with KE and my first holiday alone and I was a bit nervous, but everything went fine. Met our lovely tour guide Amaurice at the airport and he stayed with us to the end; met my fellow travellers and struck lucky again, really nice people and we got on really well. I think we were lucky there were only 4 of us on the trip so we had room to stretch out in the minibuses and getting anywhere with such a small group wasn't onerous. Havana was everything is should be, loud, colourful and vibrant; Pinar del Rio and Vinales was cool, green and educational for the tobacco fields and walks; we went for a walk in the rainforest up in the hills; Santa Clara for the history and Che's monument; Trinidad was like going back in time to see the sugar plantations, and as we had a couple of nights here in a fabulous all inclusive hotel, we were able to spend a day on a catamaran and go to Cayo Blanco for lunch which was utterly fabulous. Things to be aware of : sometimes you have windows in your hotel room, sometimes not. Sometimes the shower is great, sometimes not; sometimes the hotel isn't the best BUT if you forgive the country these miniscule irritations, the country, the history, the people are fantastic. It truly was a trip of a lifetime and I am so glad I went there in 2016, just in case it loses some of its orginality, its heart and its vibrancy in the coming years.

Off-beat, off-road, off-the-scale
Cycle Madagascar - Highlands to the Coast
Once out of the rackety colonial city of Antsirabe, unfrequented roads and rough dirt tracks take you through a succession of spectacular filmsets: Middle Earth with rice paddies, a rainforest teeming with lemurs and chameleons, the American West (with sapphire prospectors and mountains like a mini-Yosemite) and an Indian Ocean beach featuring sail-powered fishing canoes by day and myriad stars by night. You will be welcomed by people who know the uses of standing stones, who steal and sacrifice oxen, who have never seen a movie screen (for there are none in Madagascar) and who take direction from ancestors in their dreams. Local manufactures are demonstrated. Poverty is everywhere, but so too is human dignity and the enjoyment of life. This professionally-run trip, developed over several years by a German settled in Madagascar, offers competent mountain-bikers the opportunity to experience a unique biosphere and culture before large-scale tourism begins. The mountain bikes are of good quality, and excellently maintained. The schedule is flexible, allowing for extra kilometres on the bike or extra time in the support bus. Food and accommodation are at least serviceable, often better. The beach hotel at the end is quite special, and more than makes up for any hardship along the way. I went in March/April and didn't regret it my early-season choice: there were occasional thundershowers, but the flowers were out and we had most of the sites (and some of the hotels) to ourselves. Madagascar, like its people, is in some respects a blend of Africa and Asia. If you are contemplating a bike tour in either continent, you'd be hard pressed to beat this one.

I found this trip to be excellent value and the crew and tour leader really helpful and friendly. Four days walking in the dessert with each one giving a new experience or something unique to see. The only advice I would give is to wear gators to stop the sand running into your walking boots

Great variety of walks made all the more enjoyable by enthusiastic local guides
Walking Undiscovered Tenerife and Pico Teide
The six-day-trip offers a wide variety of walks, some quite hard and others relatively easy. We were based at a homestay in Chio for the first 3 days tackling Pico Teide on days 1 and 2 and the Masca Gorge on day 3. The accommodation was comfortable if quirky, the only downside being one toilet/bathroom for three rooms or six people. As we started the climb of Pico Teide from the Parador Hotel, the ascent to the Refuge was 1,140 meters of climbing, more than enough for one day! The Refuge itself was well equipped and comfortable with dormitory style bunk bed accommodation. The early morning climb took about an hour to the cable car station and from there it was another 45 minutes to the top of Pico Teide. The cable car offers a quick route down for those suffering from tiredness or the altitude. The descent of the Masca Gorge was spectacular, with towering cliffs and a path winding in and out of the rocks at the floor of the gorge. It was possible to swim in the sea at the beach before the boat arrived to take us to Los Gigantes to link up with our minibus. The accommodation in La Laguna, the old capital, was oldy-worldy and classic, and it was a joy to walk around the old streets and take in the atmosphere. Accommodation in La Laguna and later in Santa Cruz, provided an ideal base for exploring the verdant Anaga region. The three walks that we did were not too taxing and each offered spectacular views of the coast line. The common thread throughout the holiday was the enthusiasm and helpfulness of our two guides, Aaron and Cao. They were a pleasure to be with and they went out of their way to make sure that all our needs were catered for.

Fantastic week of walking in gorgeous La Gomera
La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries

Highly recommend this trip to any walker who wants to get away from it all. Enekoiz (Ene) was our extremely knowledgeable guide & his enthusiasm for the island had us captivated - stories of the ancient forest, devastating fires, traditions, Canarian culture & much more. Ene was briliant. Thank you for an interesting & fun trip!
