Highly recommend
Walking Holiday on the Captivating Cape Verde Islands
This was a fabulous trip, with excellent walking, amazing scenery and a fantastic guide. The volcano scenery for the Mount Fogo walks was fantastic, and the accomodation was mostly excellent, especially on Fogo and Santa Antao. Our guide, Odair was brilliant - funny, knowleadgeable and well organised and the trip ran very smoothly despite the inevitable differences in walking pace within the group. Several of the walks were quite strenuous, especially the Mount Fogo climb which involves some st eep uphill sections, so it is a good idea to do some uphill training beforehand.
The food was excellent - lots of locally grown vegetables with chicken or fresh fish (with vegetarian options available), and usually some cake for breakfast as well as more usual breakfast foods. And there were some delicious puddings including the home made icecream. The Cape Verdean grown coffee and wine were also excellent with local beer available which went down well after the walks. What we really liked about this trip was the large proportion of walking compared to travelling (by road/plane/ferry) - 10 walks in 12 days and no long road journeys. The weather was perfect for walking (not too hot), and the Cape Verdean people were friendly and welcoming. The islands feel unspoiled without many tourists and only a few other walkers (mostly French).
The one downside was that the hotel in Mindelho ( 5th night and last night) wasn't brilliant - too noisy, poor breakfast and not enough room for the whole group to have breakfast together. Mindelho is a busy port town which is interesting and lively, but a quieter hotel with better breakfast facilities would be an improvement. However this didn't detract from the overall trip which was fantastic, and we had a nice group too. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants some good walking in warm weather, with great scenery, great food and an excellent guide.

Heritage Trails of Rajasthan
Heritage Trails of Rajasthan
Friendly staff offering a range of itineraries that suit our requirements. Competitively priced with option to book flights as part of package.

Our guide Ketan was exceptional! Great standard of English. Calm & friendly with a good level of knowledge of the area & historic sites. Helpful & accommodating. Just a lovely guy!

What a driver! Mr Singh was always calm & happy & we felt in safe hands in the Indian traffic - quite a feat!

Accommodation was varied & interesting. Beds were always very comfortable & clean. Standard of plumbing in some could be improved but that is a wider problem than specific only to individual properties.

I suspect trip grade is reflective of very full itinerary as much as the difficulty of the walking. Itinerary was very varied & took us to some more remote areas which appealed to us as we were keen to avoid a "coach tour" which just ships you around the main tourist sites.

I fell in love with Ecuador!
Ecuador's Triple Crown
What a trip!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Ecuador. A chap I climbed Mont Blanc with in 2024 told me he loved it and thought I would too. But, still, I thought it might pale into insignificance in terms of appeal compared to the likes of Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. How wrong could I be - after this trip, I came away thinking that of all the South American countries I’ve visited, Ecuador is my favourite!

It’s just so stunningly beautiful, the people I m
et were lovely, the food amazing and the culture fantastic.

And the trekking and mountaineering? Two words - “incredible” and “hard”.

After a warm-up day hike, we then set off on a four day trek, camping in some idyllic spots for three nights. Some of this trekking was actually quite tough, especially on the high Paramo (make sure you’ve got long sleeves and long trousers - the paja grass grows tall and thick on the Paramo). This four day trek included a rather steep ascent of an extinct volcano called Yanaurco around the 4,500m mark. The next morning, leaving camp, we watched several Condors soaring near Yanaurco’s crags, then landing amongst the rocks - the best and closest I’ve ever viewed Condors.

The four day trek was followed by an excellent ascent of another extinct volcano (Imbabura, just over 4,600m) with some truly brilliant and sustained scrambling to the summit.

All this served as fantastic acclimatisation for the summit attempts later in the trip. And it was interspersed with some brilliant and restful accommodation including two nights in a lovely hosteria with great food (and even cocktails!) and a night at a wonderful homestay in San Clemente.

The ascent of Cayambe was tough. The weather and crevasse conditions made for a very long and arduous day, but our lead guide got me safely up and safely down.

I hoped the weather would be better for Cotopaxi, but it was even worse! Again, it was the experience and professionalism of my guide that was an enormous factor in me summiting.

Finally, for Chimborazo, the “white wind” had vanished. Nipping out of the tent at the high camp at 5,300m or so for a loo visit, the night sky was THE best I’ve ever seen anywhere. Simply amazing!

A combination of:
- Chimborazo being an absolute brute (it is the hardest and steepest of the three);
- the fact that I’d used up a huge amount of my energy reserves on Cayambe and Cotopaxi;
- the fact that I’d come down with a cold (probably as a result of my efforts on the first two peaks); and
- the intense cold (there was little to no wind, for once, but it was amazingly cold),
meant that I really, really struggled on Chimborazo, almost right from leaving the high camp. I was exhausted, and at least half a dozen times I felt like I should turn back.

But, once again, my motivational mountain guide helped me summit and descend successfully and safely.

This was a very hard trip. Very hard, but worth it - possibly the best holiday I’ve ever had, in fact. I’ve been back two days, and I feel like it is probably going to take me a good week or so to recover from the effort.

But it’s a trip that is much, much more than just the three big summits towards the end. The trekking in the first part of the trip is just fantastic. And the time in Quito and at the hosterias and homestay, the culture, the people, the scenery, the food, etc made it an amazing experience. This is important for me - the trip has to be about much more than just climbing mountains.

I was lucky in summiting all three of the really large volcanoes, but I was also lucky in having a superb group of fellow travellers with me - that’s another benefit of a trip like this - you meet some truly wonderful people and share memorable experiences with them.

All the crew, from kitchen to driver to horsemen to the guides were great guys, and I was sorry to see them go as they left during different phases of the trip.

Oh, and the local agency (Campus Adventures) was incredibly good and attentive.

I could go on and on and on with suggested “tips”, so I won’t. But there’s one tip I think is worth mentioning. The 2:1 ratio on Cayambe, Cotopaxi and Chimborazo is actually a very good client:guide ratio, but we all agreed (there were four of us in the group) to hire an extra “floating guide” to give us more flexibility on summit days, and the local agency organised this for us, for a fee of course, which the group agreed to share.

Ecuador is fantastic, and this was a fantastic trip. As I say, perhaps the best holiday I’ve ever had. It’s tough though … very tough indeed!

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip
Heritage Trails of Rajasthan
My third trip with KE - all have been quite different but excellent. Easy to get through to Keswick office - queries dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Excellent itinerary with varied programme of visits to forts/palaces etc with some interesting walks and visit to game reserve. It all felt pretty full on and perhaps a little more free time for relaxation would have been appreciated. Our guide Ketan did a fantastic job in all respects. Very personable, knowledgeable and able to
deal with all situations which arose. Can't recommend him highly enough! We used a small coach for travel. The coach was comfortable, despite some bumpy roads, and the driver (Mr Singh) was excellent. Always felt safe despite some very busy roads. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip.

Everything was perfect!
Spires and Ice - Trekking Patagonia

This was my second trip with KE and it exceeded my very high expectations - everything was organised perfectly, our guides were superb in every respect and Patagonia was utterly magnificent.

Luis absolutely made the trip - he really looked out for us all and was passionate about the country, the geography, the geology and above all the birds. He was the perfect guide, as were Pedro, Erik and Pilar who joined us in Chile and the Perito Moreno glacier.

Fantastic remote trek, Great scenery.
Jebel Sahro Walking Holiday
Very enjoyable trek. We walked on average 4 hours in the morning and then stopped for a picnic lunch and then another 2 hours in the afternoon. The trekking was enjoyable and only encountered one other group in the first couple of days. It’s remote. The scenery is spectacular. It’s vast. The tents are very good. Mattresses a little thin but adequate. A good sleeping bag is essential for a December departure. We were trekking through snow. The food was good especially the lunches. Always soup at dinner and a normally a vegetable or meat tagine. The bread the cook made was delicious. Breakfasts and the porridge not so good. Nuts and dates were the mid morning snack. Yummy. Take a water filter bottle or tablets. Boiled water not available for your water bottle. The crew were great. The leader could have been much kinder. Only 5 of us in the group and we bonded immediately which resulted in good banter and support for each other. I would definitely recommend this trek.

Hoi An to Angkor Wat Cycle Discovery
This was the second trip, that I took with KE. The organisation is excellent and they communicate every important information, so that I knew exactly what was needed. The itinerary worked really well for me. I loved the mix between road and off road cycling.

Our guide Li was great! He was very motivating and his knowledge was excellent, all questions were answered. Rith, our guide in Cambodia was also great, very calm and also very knowledgeable, again all questions were answered.
He showed us a side of his cointry, that people don't really get to see. It was amazing!

Simply spectacular!!!!!
La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries
La Gomera is simply a one-of-a-kind place. I have traveled all over the world, including throughout the Mediterranean, South Pacific, and Caribbean... I have never experienced an island like La Gomera. The landscape changes we experienced daily were stunning. I loved my group of fellow travelers and Ene was one of the best guides I have EVER had. His passion for his land, knowledge, sense of humor, and caring for his clients is unmatched in my experience. I am so happy we had a local guide! !! I would go to La Gomera again in a heartbeat, if I didn't live across the globe. What an amazing way to start 2025!

IT'S NOT JUST ABOUT THE SUMMIT!!
Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route
KE have an excellent reputation for safety on big trips such as Kilimanjaro and this is a big reason I booked for this trip through KE. Once on a trip the local guides are experienced and having worked with KE for a large number of years means you feel very safe in their hands and they deliver a high quality service and experience.

In 2007 I stood on the summit of Mt Kenya, 4985 metres, having never believed I was physically strong enough to trek up such a high mountain. Since th
en I have challenged myself on mountains both home and away and all have taught me a lot about myself and others but my latest adventure really has cemented why I like to take on the challenge of mountains and even I'm quite taken aback by how I feel…

Since Mt Kenya, Mt Kilimanjaro has been on my horizon but I was worried it was all about the chance to say 'I trekked up Kilimanjaro' was I only interested so I would have the summit badge of honour?

I was working in Tanzania in July and prior to that had pushed the mountain to the back of my mind but then I saw it bigger than any mountain I had seen before, mostly because it's a single mountain not part of a range, at that moment Ihad this overwhelming emotion that I had to give it a go.

At this point I could share images of this life changing trek and the summit picture but… this trek like many others I have completed was actually about the journey and most importantly the people!! Without
the amazing strength, kindness and dedication of our porters, guides and cook team I believe we would not have been successful!!

Spending 8 days in this beautiful mountain environment sharing stories, developing friendships and embracing a basic life, I feel, is so much more than the summit. I'm so thankful for the experience I have had during that journey not just 15 minutes on the summit. I still don't fully understand my obsession with mountains but I'm so pleased to have it!!

This is a genuine thanks to the beautiful team of Tanzanian's who created summit success.

Good variety of accommodation, locations and experiences of walking
Walking Cape Verde - Santo Antao & Sao Vicente
Good balance of locations and walking. I think the grading as 'easier' and 'harder' is well thought through. We are pretty good walkers and thought we'd be up for the 'harder' walks. However, the harder option on Hike 2 Cliff and Norte Plateau was particularly hard for us and so after that we opted for the 'easier' walks and felt like we had done a good walk. I really liked the coastal walk and also those that passed through the agricultural and growi ng areas. Seeing the veg beds and fruit trees was great.

It was good to see that our holiday benefitted the local communities. Several of the places we stayed at were sustainability conscious.

La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries

The organisation of the trip and information provided prior to the trip was very good. My e mail queries were dealt withvery promptly. The trip itself was excellent and lived up to my expectation. Ene was absolutely excellent. He is clearly passionate about his home country. He gave us great insights into the history, politics, geography, climate, ecology and customs of the people in La Gomera. I found this made the trip much more than just a walking holiday.

I had a wonderful time!
La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries

My first trip with KE Adventure and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Superb guide, lovely hotels and food, and a great group of likeminded travellers. What a perfect getaway during a cold, miserable January in in the UK! Exceptional value, considering the quality of the walks, accommodation, food and guide. Booking early meant flights were extremely reasonable, too.

I loved it
Patagonia - The Classic Paine Circuit

I loved it and was very emotional at the end as had had such a magical trip. The glacial lakes, ice field, Torres and condors were particularly special and brought tears to my eyes each time. The trip was impeccable from arrival in Buenos Aires at the start, throughout the trek and all went to plan to get home.

La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries
Our La Gomera trek was well organised, well run and reasonably priced. Communication was excellent.

I can't speak highly enough of Ene. He was responsible for ensuring that this trip was so much more than a walking holiday. He managed the practical details on the trail and at our various accommodations with good humour. He also spoke with great passion and knowledge about the history and culture of La Gomera, illustrated also with reference to his own family. A very warm per
son with a winning smile and excellent communication, he was a great ambassador for his home island.
