Small island packed full of impressions!
La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries
A very enjoyable week, with a feeling at the end of each day that it had been a good day's walk. The island is full of contrasts, with warm and sunny weather at the south end of the island at the beginning of the week, ending at the north end on the last day in ferocious wind and spooky, swirling mists. There are only uphills and downhills, no flat bits anywhere! But the uphills took you to some stunning views and were well worth the effort. There were some knee-trembling, foot-jarring descents too, but Enekoiz always took the time to rest and talk about the geography and culture of La Gomera. His passion for the heritage of La Gomera brought it alive for us, in a way that we would not have been able to appreciate on a self-guided tour. The hotels were all good, the food was lovely and we now all know that palm honey is to La Gomera what maple syrup is to Canada!

A Great Adventure
Mount Toubkal in Winter
If you have even the slightest interest in this trip, book it. It ended up being much more than I expected. The trekking is really not that difficult once you're some preparation done. We had fresh snow which made the going heavy but added to the atmosphere. The food is really good, despite being half way up a mountain. I still don't know how that was managed, every day. Our guides in the mountains for the week, Houssain and Omar are two good guys and really excellent. They were both very genero us with their time and knowledge, friendly and accommodating. There always seemed to be time to gather for mint tea, wherever we were, and the chats were great with a really sound gang of trekkers. Go on, go on, go on :)

challenging whilst being restful
Edge of the Sahara Trek

Excellent organisation with a super guide who managed to give us a real feel of the Sahara despite adverse weather conditions. Food was superb and the cook and camel drivers were kind and helpful. Very nice group of fellow travellers from diverse backgrounds all making an interesting mix. I would recommend this to anyone with a sense of adventure and an open mind.

An unforgettable experience, staff were attentive and efficient.
Edge of the Sahara Trek
We experienced a rare sandstorm during our trip, however the staff worked so hard to ensure that the storm did not put a damper on the trip. They always strived to help us feel safe and happy and cooked up many delicious dishes . The trek leader was a soft spoken gentlemen, who always made sure we were in the know how on what we would be doing and were well prepared for the days activities. He was very knowledgeable about Morocco and desert life. I highly appreciated the extra effort he made to bond with me, as i was the only young adult there. Would recommend the trip to people of all ages.

The real France, away from the crowds
Snowshoe Traverse of the Chablais
Travelling through this area really felt like being in the real France, away from the crowds and the tourists. There were other holidaymakers there, but they seemed to be French for the most part. This meant that the quality and service, particularly the food, was outstanding. So this trip is a great chance to sample authentic French cuisine, local specialities, regional wines, and a multitude of 'digestifs' such as Genepi, Sapinette, eau de vie made with Mirabelle, plum, pear. The hotels are al l very friendly, and for the most part family-run I think. The scenery is fantastic, the landscape unspoilt and remote. The snowshoeing is hard work, but very rewarding and this is a really great way to get off the beaten track. It is worth pointing out that this trip is run with a partner organisation, so, although the joining instructions say to look out for the 'KE' sign, you should be aware that the pickup might be for a different company. Also it is worth adding to the equipment list that a Buff or a scarf is pretty essential to cover the lower part of your face not covered by goggles as it can be very cold in the wind and snow. From Evian, there are two options to return to Geneva. The local staff at the train station are very helpful - there is a train to Annemasse, where you need to switch to bus 61 (stop across the road from the station) and then get a train from Geneva station to the airport. The other option is to get the ferry across the lake. There is no ferry to Geneva in the winter so you need to go to Lausanne. Again, the staff at the ferry terminal are very helpful if you tell them what you are doing. It is possible to buy a through-ticket from Evian, to Lausanne, metro to the station (4 stops to Lausanne-Gare), and then get the train direct to Geneva airport from there. The cost of the through-ticket was 49,60 Euro. The ferry across Lac Léman is a lovely way to finish the trip, and there are great views up the lake to the Bernese Oberland.

Wonderful scenery away from it all
Jebel Sahro Walking Holiday

Short, not too demanding but stunning trek in the land of Nomads. Wonderful big views and dramatic rock formations. Cold star filled nights and warm, dry, arid days with oasis stops. Wild camping adventure with usual dodgey loos but with some showers, great food and a helpful guide

Experience of a Lifetime
Pedal Patagonia
What a fantastic trip – A HUGE thank you to Javier, Dario and Julian for creating such an incredible cycling adventure. We loved all of it: riding through such a variety of epic landscapes, meeting the local people, your very professional attention to detail in the organisation of the tour, the fabulous support throughout the whole tour, the incredible local knowledge and humour, the remote places you took us to, the flexibility to cater for riders of differing skills and fitness, great bikes, good food and cosy accommodation, the size of the group (there were 6 of us plus guides). We didn’t want it to end! Cycling is definitely one of the best ways to experience new countries, especially if you are so well looked after by Javier, Dario and Julian. Muchas gracias amigos! excellent winter trek
Mount Toubkal in Winter

Excellent trek , we were well looked after by Hassan and Omar ,plenty of food and you needed it for the trek. Felt as if we had a full Berber experience . I would recommend this trip if you are of a good fitness level and be prepared for 4 seasons on one mountain.

Memorable achievement in the Sahara
Edge of the Sahara Trek
The Edge of the Sahara trip was both interesting and memorable. Several of the trekkers had not realised the length and type of journey it would be to the start of the walk. It was a ten hour day in a minibus up and down twisting mountain passes. I found it fascinating and took a lot of photos, others were travel sick. The trek covered amazing desert scenery but the walking time was longer and further and harder than expected. All days were long and quite difficult. Blisters caused by sand in sh oes/socks (in spite of correct gaiters) were disabling. It is essential to attend to them immediately even if it means holding up the group. Maybe waterproof socks would be effective? The heat was manageable but could be difficult later in the season. The tents were excellent with plenty room for two. Mattresses were acceptable. Sleeping bags up to -10deg needed in January. The food was good, sensible, suitable and well-presented.

Good Winter Walking Destination
Walking Lanzarote - The Island of Eternal Spring
Did the Lanzarote walk in December so great to get away from a chilly UK winter!. Due to the windy weather we did the trek from north to south which is probably the most likely way. The weather was pretty good for the week (typical 20C) but we did have 3 very windy days so I would recommend some headgear to protect the ears!. The landscape to be honest is a bit on the barren side and the more interesting parts are in the north of the island. The highlight for me was the coastal and volcano walk on the Graciosa Island - great views. The walking is pretty easy going and the communal lunches were very good with some good coffee stops. The evening meals were excellent and a different local restaurant was used each day. The breakfasts were very limited (bread and jam) so expect to top up locally. The villas were very good and relaxing. After each days walking a visit to one of the local "sights" was an option. Personally after a days walking I could have missed this part or I would recommend extending your trip to include these visits later. Another observation from the walk is that the trek does not go through the Timanfaya National Park (as walking is not permitted) so you do see the big volcanoes from a distance. Overall a good winter walking destination, good weather and not too far away....

Exceptional
Edge of the Sahara Trek
Andiamo, vamoose, yallah, let'sgo! The cry from our great guide Omar as we set off into the wide blue yonder. A trek like no other. The Sahara is not just sand dunes, but wadis, stony plains, and baked flats strewn with the bleached bones of past KE trekkers (joke). An all too short trek but most enjoyable. Lots of fun and laughter. Fantastic food and great company. Do not underestimate how hard it is walking in sand! You will have thighs like iron! I had lightweight boots and gaiters and still got a blister. I believe that a very comfortable old pair of trainers with a good gaiter, like the ones fell runners use, is all you need. The vast blue skies are awesome. The sunshine is so welcome. We had a wonderful week. We all bought 10 litres of bottled water before the trek for around 200 dirham, (£2.00), which was ample to supply us all without the need for sterilising tabs. The long journey to the desert and back to Marrakesh passes swiftly as we can be distracted by watching the locals going about their daily lives and admire the changing scenery. The journey is broken by coffee stops and lunches. The hotel in Marrakech was excellent and only a short walk from the Medina. We encountered a couple a nomads on our way and wished we had some fags to give them. Then we could have taken a photo of them and their donkey. A packet between the group should do it . Be prepared for extremes of temperature. It could be minus 5 at night and plus 25 C in the day. Just go and enjoy a totally different experience.

Excellent holiday
Mount Toubkal in Winter
Thank you KE - our guides Omar and Omar were fantastic, they were very well tuned in to the overall ability of our group. As we were able to move quite fast they were able to push us a bit more than usual and tailor our itinerary a little bit - thank you for allowing us some bespoke requests! The food in the site and refuge was excellent - better than the Marrakech restaurants if you are looking for authentic Moroccan cuisine. I think we were lucky with the weather (blue skies and sunshine every day) but get the impression it can be a lot colder so bring your warm stuff!

Timing is everything.
Mount Toubkal in Winter
A great trip, well organized and executed with flexibility to tweak towards the end with group agreement to come down from the refuge a little earlier than planned due to the group having good legs. The guides were top drawer, always happy and work very hard to keep you happy too. The food was exceptional. I was struggling with a cold but the group were accommodating and supportive and we were all successful. We got really lucky with the weather which helped. Having hot showers available was a s urprise and a bonus. Maybe a bottle of water in the mini bus at the airport wouldn't go amiss but otherwise I am so pleased I took on the challenge. Hats off to KE, my 1st trip with you guys. All good.

Spectacular scenery, company, people and service. Simply amazing!
Everest Base Camp Trek
Cannot stop bleating about this trip since returning and have already booked another trip with KE Adventure as a result. The organisation, itinerary, service and value for money was exceptional. From beginning to end, our Sherpa guides were attentive, helpful, polite and kept us really well informed. Although challenging conditions in December, heading to Base Camp over Christmas meant that the routes and tea houses were quiet. At times we had the tails and Mountains to ourselves. In brief, a su perb trip with a superb company. Would not take a chance on going with anyone else!

Desert Walk
Edge of the Sahara Trek
An amazing experience in the Sahara Desert. Long days walking at a steady pace, camping under the stars, excellent guide in Omar who looked after us superbly. He has a gentle way about him but has a depth of knowledge he is keen to impart. The information he gave us about life in the desert, the changing ways of the people, flaura and animals, the mountains and the tribes who live here. All added to the experience. The only slight thought I would give is if you have knee problems be aware it is hard on the knees in the sand which is very fine.

A fantastic but challenging cycling trip
Bike Jordan Dead 2 Red
This was an excellent trip and was a great way to see Jordan as you take a linear route making this feel like more of a journey down the country by bike. The cycling was physically challenging at times especially on the two longer days both in terms of distance and ascent/descent but there is always the support bus and van for those who have had enough cycling. The route varied being on road for the first half of the trip and then off road for the last few days through the desert and dirt tracks . The time in Petra was a good break from cycling and allowed you to spend the whole day exploring this fantastic site. The trip finished with having a couple of hours in Aqaba on the coast which was a great way to end. Anas was an excellent guide having run the trip many times before, and the support crew was also excellent. Highly recommended trip for those who want to see Jordan on bike and up for a challenge.

Beautiful scenery, luxury lodgesm
Luxury Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu
My husband, his son and myself very much enjoyed this trip. We were taken care of very well, and the three exhausting plane journeys from Edinburgh to Cusco and four on our return were worth suffering in order to take part in the trip. We had a wonderful personal city tour with a very interesting guide who spoke excellent English on our first day in Cusco. I would reccomend take by diamox before arriving and drinking lots of water to aid acclimatisation. We felt quite exhausted that day, but ver y much enjoyed the tour. The trek was excellent and we were well taken care of in the lodges, though my husband’s son suffered from food poisoning which we believe may have been caused by the Guinea pig meat he ate at one of the lodges. I would reccomend that future travellers should carry Imodium, dyrelite and appropriate antibiotics, all of which can be purchased in pharmacies in Cusco. We enjoyed using the hot tubs in the lodges after our daily treks: don’t forget your swimming clothing. The hot tubs were surrounded by beautiful scenery. The walks were varied and fairly easy for anyone who is reasonably fit. We enjoyed taking photos of the many and varied flowers and butterflies en route. Most of our group were Americans. They were highly educated people and interesting to talk to, but they didn’t want to contribute to a tip kitty collection, preferring to give separate tips to the guides. We really enjoyed the views from Wymapicchu mountain, overlooking, Machupicchu. It is well worth making the effort to make this climb, though it is steep and those afraid of heights should avoid it.

A Dream Come True
Everest Base Camp Trek

This was my first ever multi-day trek and I was a solo traveller. I had the most incredible time on this trip; from the Sherpa team to the other trekkers it was a first class experience. The knowledge and organisational skills from the Sherpa team really did help make this a memorable experience. I cannot recommend this trip enough. Thanks KE!

Magnificent Seven - scaled and delighted!
Guatemala's Magnificent Seven
What an adventure...this is what happens when you don't fully read the notes of a trip! I have never been...and probably won't get to do it again...on the side of a volcano whilst it has been erupting. volcano Fuego was very active during our visit and at nighttime seeing all the lava was just amazing. the walking element was pretty tough as each volcano was straight up and straight down...very little flat so was tiring for the knees. But the pace was good and there was always plenty of time to do what was required. You do need to be relatively fit for this trip..and happy to sit in a vehicle for several hours to move between each area. Also, you do need to be ok with boats for the short ride over to San Pedro...not a journey I enjoyed at all but the rest of the team were really supportive. The Guatemala lads were brilliant. Mario was our cook and tried his level best to accommodate us all. There is no water in camp so all water has to be carried up, which is a challenge. Snacks are few so it is advisable to take your own. Alex was our 2nd guide and he was a lot of fun and really knowledgable about each area...and coffee. Both he and Mario took us to coffee places and knew a lot about chocolate too! Sebastian was our chief guide and is a sensitive and caring soul. He had good knowledge and is passionate about sharing the outdoors. He is also very clued up on their history. All three had very good English. Our driver was good fun and a safe driver...I am a poor passenger but I had every faith in him. Tips: it's cold in camp so do take a decent sleeping bag you carry your own packed lunch most days so take your own 'spork' and plastic cup you need very few clothes as you can easily rinse things out at the hotels they will take you to a bank on day 1 to change money - take USD or ATM card make sure you go to a coffee plantation and learn about chocolate - with highly delicious go to the women's cooperative in San Juan (near San Pedro) - beautiful hand woven items gaiters are a good idea for the scree running days - Pacaya and Acatenango Sunrises are amazing Antigua is expensive...cheaper to buy presents in San Pedro or Quetzaltenango take snacks with you
